Celebrating Wyoming Evocations Masts

June 17, 2013

On June 1, 2013 the Maine Maritime Museum celebrated the second phase of our Wyoming Evocation by hoisting special flags up the masts. Since then, the masts have been illuminated, creating a new experience in the evening.

The design is a life-size evocation of the schooner Wyoming, the largest wooden sailing ship ever built in the United States.  Due to the ambitious scale and funding limitations, it was constructed in two phases.

It’s great to see our vision develop.
